Mental Health and Forensic Practice

The Mental Health and Forensic Practice certificate provides students with an understanding of the major issues involved in working with people who have mental health issues within a forensic context. With a focus on assessment, treatment and teamwork practice, students will explore such topics as trauma and grief interventions, working with persons with addictive behaviours and disorders of impulse control, harm reduction strategies, self-care and burnout prevention, diversion programs, restorative measures, and best practices for delivering effective and ethical services.
