This program is an open enrolment program. There is no formal admission procedure. To enrol in a course or the program, simply register online. Students should register at least three weeks before classes begin. Courses can be taken as part of a program or individually.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The majority of McMaster Continuing Education programs are open enrolment, which means there is no formal application or admission procedure. To enrol in a course, simply register online. McMaster Continuing Education courses can be taken as part of a program or individually.
Five of our programs have specific admission and application requirements, please refer to the Program and Application Requirements section below for more information on Health Informatics, Health Information Fundamentals, My OWN McMaster, Nursing Concepts in Continence Care and Professional Addiction Studies programs.
To enrol in McMaster Continuing Education programs, you must:
- Have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
- Be a mature student as defined in the Undergraduate Calendar of McMaster University or
- Be deemed an exceptional case
To ensure you are successful in your online courses, you are required to have knowledge and skills with general computer applications, such as keyboarding, file management, video conferencing and word processing.
English Language Proficiency Requirements
If your first language is not English, you must meet McMaster University’s English language proficiency requirements: Completion of TOEFL exam with a minimum acceptable score of IBT: 86 overall with a minimum score of 20 on each of the four components (Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening), valid for 2 years.

Please note: Students seeking the RHC designation with the Health Coach Alliance must take the following selection of courses, as well as pass (80%) a Final Test administered by McMaster Continuing Education:
