Food Service & Catering

Description

Food service is a vital element in event planning. This course aims to develop the student's understanding of the catering and events industry, including specific terminology used and common types of meal service. Under the tutelage of event and catering professionals, students will study topics such as menu planning and design, room layouts, pricing catering, calculating alcohol requirements and contract preparation and negotiation. The culminating project allows students to demonstrate their knowledge with a presentation of a themed event plan.
