We are excited to announce a groundbreaking new offering called The Education Leaders Program. Formerly known as The Principal’s Qualification Program (PQP), this program has undergone a significant transformation, including a new name.

Open to aspiring school principals, the program is now also accessible to education leaders from diverse backgrounds and contexts. This globally minded initiative spans various geographical locations and education sectors, embodying a globalized approach to leadership development.

This update represents a pivotal moment in our commitment to nurturing educational leadership. 
 
PROGRAM LENGTH: Can be completed in 12 - 24 months
FORMAT:  Online Asynchronous with optional Synchronous sessions
CLASS SIZE:  Under 30 Learners
COURSE DURATION: Phase 1: 7 wks / course = 21 weeks, Phase 2: 14 weeks
EFFORT:  Active Engagement Phase 1: 42 hrs / course (125 hrs), Phase 2: 125 hr program
TOTAL INVESTMENT: Phase 1: $365 per course = $1095, Phase 2: $1298/ TOTAL = $2393 (All courses HST Exempt)

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
 
Upon successful completion of Phase 1, you will receive a Certificate of Completion (OCT Certified Educators will also receive the PQP Part 1 Additional Qualification). Upon successful completion of Phase 2, you will receive a Master Certificate of Completion (OCT Certified Educators will also receive the PQP Part 2 Additional Qualification).
 
For education leaders in the Primary, Secondary, and College sectors, the Education Leaders Program has been designed and accredited as OISE CPL’s Principal’s Qualification Program, which includes two distinct phases: 
 
PHASE ONE – EDUCATION LEADERS: BUILDING THE FOUNDATIONS OF LEADERSHIP
(FORMERLY PRINCIPAL’S QUALIFICATION PROGRAM, PART 1)
  • comprises three foundational courses, taken sequentially. Each course is 7-weeks, and fully online. During this phase you’ll articulate your leadership philosophy, learn methods for cultivating and maintaining meaningful relationships with community agents, and gather tools for leading and managing during various situations.  
PHASE TWO – EDUCATION LEADERS: NURTURING SUSTAINABLE LEADERSHIP
(FORMERLY PRINCIPAL’S QUALIFICATION PROGRAM, PART 2)
  • is an OISE CPL Professional Learning Fellowship (PLF) – an advanced, self-guided study to work through your own applied inquiry with support from facilitators, resident experts, and peers. In this PLF, you’ll refine your professional inquiry, lead and facilitate seminar discussions, build your leadership action plan, and compile a personal leadership toolbox of resources and strategies you’ll be able to use throughout your career as an education leader.

  • ELP-SL1 - Shared Leadership: Builing Relationships and Engaging Communities
  • ELP-OL2 - Organizational Leadership: Developing and Implementing a Shared School Vision
  • ELP-IL3 - Instructional Leadership:Creating an Effective School and Student Learning Experience
PHASE 2 - PROFESSIONAL LEARNING FELLOWSHIP (TAKE ALL 1)
  • PLF-ELP - Nurturing Sustainable Leadership
Please note:  OCT Educators seeking their Principal’s Qualification in Ontario must complete both Phase One and Two. Educators who have already completed the Principal’s Qualification Program, Part 1, through an alternative AQ provider would only be required to complete Phase Two. Education professionals who are not affiliated with the Ontario College of Teachers may choose to complete one or both phases depending on their needs. Advanced education leaders may opt only for the Phase Two Professional Learning Fellowship.  The pre-requisites for each are listed on their individual course pages below.
