Pre Health Sciences

Be a part of the NAN Health Transformation by choosing a career in the healthcare field. The Pre-Health Sciences Certificate Program will prepare you to move onto a certificate or diploma program in health sciences.
 
Your Career
Caring and compassion, along with an understanding of sciences are needed for these highly-sought after positions. When you complete the Pre-Health Sciences–Pathway to Certificates and Diplomas program you will have the credentials to enroll in a variety of health career programs, including Practical Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Paramedic, and more.
 
Upon completion of the certificate, you will be eligible to apply to Health Science programs. Eligibility will be dependent on academic achievement and specific program requirements.
 
In partnership with Confederation College, Oshki-Wenjack’s special delivery method allows you to stay in your own home community for the majority of the program. You will take courses through online and independent study and attend classes in Thunder Bay twice per semester.*

Admission Requirements
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent) with courses from the College (C), University (U), University/College (U/C) or Open (O) preparation levels with Grade 12 English (C/U) Level.
  • Or successful completion of the Mature Student Assessment.
  • Or successful completion of the General Education Development Test (GED).
  • Or appropriate credits from the Academic and Career Entrance program (ACE).
Note: Some Health programs require a minimum grade in each required course. Please refer to the individual program page for specific program requirements.
