Program Description
 
The Information Security Essentials is designed for individuals with a 2 or 3 year College Diploma or Degree in a computing-related field seeking training and education in information and cyber security. It offers a short credential for IT professionals looking to leverage their education and work experience into the growing information security field. The 3 course Essentials offers an overview into important aspects of information security. Topics covered in the Information Security Essentials include: auditing, controls and security in an IT environment, overview of the areas of study in the CISSSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification, risk assessment and security management. 
 
Courses will be instructor led, and online asynchronous; allowing students the flexibility to study at their own convenience, while receiving instructor instruction and support. After completing the Information Security Essentials, students who meet admission requirements can bridge into the Information Securities Management post-graduate program (ISM1)
