Program Description
Being in a Health Care Office Assistant position is a specialized administration role, it's a role that requires attention to detail, compassion and specific knowledge. This program will cover all aspects of the medical office and prepare you for this exciting, ever changing field. You will learn how to work with both patients and medical professionals,
You'll start off learning medical terminology, billing, transcription, patient records, patient preparation and the art of processing physician's orders. Students use current and industry standard software while receiving experiential computer learning.
Graduates of this program are prepared to step into the medical office world with careers as a medical secretary, medical team assistant, administrative assistant, office assistant, medical records clerk, clerk or receptionist.
This program is offered on a part-time basis, all courses are available online. There are also accelerated in-class course offerings at regional campuses.
