Queen's Certificate in Mining Technologies at a glance:
What it is: An 18-Credit, 6-course certificate program offered in two streams (1) Mining or (2) Mineral Processing.
Who it's for: 3rd and 4th year engineering and science students who are thinking about pursuing a career in mining, or working professionals with degrees who wish to augment their skill-set.
What fields of study: The certificate will most appeal to engineering students studying civil, geological, (engineering geology), chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering, and science students pursuing geology, environmental science, chemistry, earth sciences and materials science degrees.
How long does it take: If you only take 1 class per semester, you can finish in two years. You can take up to 2 courses a semester
Who is eligible: You need to have completed two years of study in engineering or a relevant science degree, be in good academic standing and have specific science prerequisites completed. Otherwise, eligibility is considered on a case-by-case basis and will be limited by demand. Our advisors are available to discuss with you before you apply.
CHOOSE YOUR PATHWAY:
Choose from one of two streams of certificate study - Mineral Processing or Mining. Each stream includes six courses offered over three academic terms. By taking one course in each of the Fall, Winter and Spring/Summer terms, you can earn your certificate in just two years.
