Overview:
 
The Bachelor of Allied Health Sciences (Honours) is a career-oriented program intended to serve the educational needs of graduates from a professional diploma in allied health programs or disciplines (e.g., medical laboratory technologists, massage therapy, paramedics, pharmacy technicians, dental hygienists etc.) This opportunity will prepare allied health professionals to fill leadership and teaching positions in the evolving health care system.

The Bachelor of Allied Health Sciences (Honours) is an interdisciplinary and multi-focused undergraduate degree designed to engage students in the examination of diverse aspects of health, health care delivery, and interdisciplinary research.The program is designed to enrich the specific credentials of diploma graduates with additional breadth and depth of knowledge of health care and of the disciplines and professions that work in the integrated system. The university intends to provide Ontario with efficient and well-educated health workers ready to take on leadership roles.

Applicants with this diploma need to complete an additional course in Medical Terminology through "Ontario Learn" by October 15 of their first semester of the BAHSc enrolment in order to qualify.
 
This program is only available to graduates of public Canadian colleges (or equivalent).
 
Note: Admission is competitive. Regardless of educational background, all applicants to undergraduate programs must have specific prerequisite subject knowledge for their intended program of study. The specific average or standing required for admission will vary from year to year. Students are selected by taking into consideration a wide range of criteria, including school marks, distribution of subjects taken and performance in subjects relevant to the academic program. Preference will be given to applicants with the best qualifications.
 
Bridge requirements
 
Once you have completed the bridge courses with a minimum C+ grade in each course, you will proceed into the four-year BAHSc program. In recognition of your diploma, you will receive 19 courses toward your 40 course BAHSc degree.
 
Students must complete the following bridging courses with a minimum 2.3 GPA (on a 4.3 point scale) or higher in each:
  • HLSC 1701U – Information Literacy and Written Communication for the Health Sciences
  • HLSC 2700U – Mathematical Reasoning in Health Sciences
Program details and degree requirements
  • 120 credits including:
a) 57 credits block standing for credits obtained in previous health-related diploma

b) Elective requirements: 15 credit hours

Note: students interested in pursuing the Work Disability Prevention (WDP) postgraduate diploma have the option to take some or all of the following four elective courses which are included in the initial core of the WDP, which would then be recognized as counting towards their WDP requirements:
