Accounting - Bookkeeping (Microcredential)

Description

Detail oriented, organized, and excellent communicators, Bookkeepers are responsible for ensuring an organization's accounts are in order. Designed to provide a solid foundation in accounting/bookkeeping, this group of courses offers the knowledge to effectively manage the finances in your own small business, bookkeeping practice or other ventures. Begin by exploring the basics of bookkeeping including: journals, ledgers, worksheets, and financial statements. You will then move on to develop additional skills such as business transactions, inventory valuation, special journals, payroll, receivables, and bank reconciliations. By the final course you will have developed advanced bookkeeping skills including: partnerships, corporations, capital assets, bonds, and financial analysis. After completing the three levels of Accounting - Bookkeeping, students can progress to the Integrated Accounting Certificate to develop computerized accounting software skills. You do not need to apply to begin this program, simply ensure you meet the admission requirements listed on the Admission & Registration tab. Interested in taking a single course? No problem. Provided you have the appropriate prerequisites, these courses can be taken individually or as part of the full program. 
 
Students who began the program in Spring 2022 or later are eligible to apply for a Micro-credential after successfully completing each course:

Accounting Bookkeeping 1 (1000)
Accounting Bookkeeping 2 (1001)
Accounting Bookkeeping 3 (1002)
Student who began the program prior to Spring 2022 are eligible to apply for an Acknowledgement of Completion upon successful completion of all three courses. This credential will not be issued based on completion of equivalent courses.
