Youth in Conflict with the Law

This course provides students with the opportunity to explore issues specifically related to youth in conflict with the law. Emphasis will be placed on the formation of perceptions and concepts about youth in society in relation to the experience of conflict. Social attitude and societal response to youth conflict will be addressed from a historical, contemporary, and social structural perspective. Future approaches and interventions to youth crime and conflict will constitute the concluding component of the course.
