Visual Design and Layout

The visual design of a communications project can be as important as the content itself. In this course, students will assess the critical differences between print and online documents, select a proper medium and structure, and evaluate the effect of design and layout on usability. The course will focus on the best practices of desktop publishing and the use of graphics and visual aids in documentation. Students will be introduced to a variety of tools and styles to incorporate into the final projects of their other classes.
