Understanding the Diversity of Educational Needs
Description
This course explores the concept of neurodiversity and its critical role in shaping learning within inclusive educational frameworks. Students will investigate a range of neurological differences, including autism, learning disabilities, ADHD, and more, with an emphasis on moving beyond traditional special education labels towards a holistic, strengths-based approach. The course will cover universal design principles and innovative strategies to support the neurodiverse needs of all students, fostering environments that celebrate diversity and promote a strong sense of belonging. Through this exploration, students will be equipped to create classrooms that not only acknowledge but also value the unique contributions of neurodiverse individuals.
