Taxation 1
Description
Students will gain a basic understanding of Canada’s Income Tax Act and regulations to determine the income tax liability, as it applies mainly to individuals. Through a practical approach, students will learn to prepare a simple tax return for an individual Canadian resident and to use their newly-acquired knowledge to solve problems relating to the taxation of individuals (resident and non-resident of Canada).
The course will utilize a variety of virtual learning tools, including online discussions and audio and video recordings. Students will apply the concepts and rules they learn to online tests and assignments. They will also complete an income tax return using a recognized tax software.
