Spreadsheet and Table Management

This course examines issues related to data organization, access, storage, and processing. Students will be introduced to common software packages for data management that will be useful for them in other coursework as well as in possible future workplaces. Having practical knowledge of these widely uses software packages to manage data is critical to the research process. In this course, students will calculate basic descriptive statistics such as mean, median, and mode. Students will learn how to present data in a variety of graphical forms such as histograms, stem and leaf graphs, and scatterplots. Additionally, the appropriate and effective use of all programs in Microsoft Office will be examined.
