Sociology in Canadian Society
Description
This course introduces the sociological perspective and provides the tools needed to examine human society and social behaviour in Canadian society. Topics include the evolution of the discipline, major theories and methods of research as well as social change, collective behaviour and social deviance. It is an approach that critically questions scientifically investigates and analyzes how concepts, such as race, class, and gender are constructed through cultural and socialization processes. TEXTBOOK REQUIRED.
