Quantity Surveying, Estimating and Bidding Procedures

This course prepares students through a hands-on approach to participate in the process of bidding for a construction project. Through a combination of lectures and workshop applications, students will learn to correctly understand construction contract document information, perform construction quantity surveying and cost estimating, prepare bids and assemble bidding documentation for submission to competitive contractor selection. The students will be directed to obtain contract documents of a real-life project and simulate in a workshop setting the complete process of bidding for obtaining a commission for the construction of that project.
