Nursing Practice II

Description

In this course, you will examine the role of the practical nurse when caring for older adults, particularly those individuals requiring support with activities of daily living due to comorbidities, limited mobility, and/or cognitive impairment. You will begin to apply the assessment skills learned concurrently in HLTH1245 to plan and implement individualized care plans in long-term care clinical settings. In the lab setting, you will develop competence with a variety of nursing interventions including (but not limited to) asepsis and wound care. You will cultivate your ability to develop therapeutic nurse-client relationships framed within the College of Nurses' (CNOs') values of client well-being, client choice, privacy and confidentiality, respect for life, maintaining commitments, truthfulness, and fairness.
