Learning and the Brain

Description

This course familiarizes students with key concepts, case studies, and experiments in the neuroscience of learning and yields important insights for students to assist them in making learning more "brain-compatible". Understanding the process of learning will enhance students? awareness of themselves, help them to become metacognitivelearners, and enable them to know the ways in which they can change their brain. Students can relate their strengths and areas of improvement to the biology of learning and the learning processes of the brain. Students will learn how they can benefit from neuroplasticity to improve their own critical thinking and listening, goal setting, planning their learning, enhancing memory, study skills, and group skills.
