Introduction to Research in Education
Description
This course provides a general introduction to research in education. Students will critically examine the purposes, benefits and limitations of education research. Students will also explore and assess methods of educational research. The course provides opportunities for students to enhance their skills for reading, analyzing, and writing scholarly/academic work. The epistemological assumptions about the nature of knowledge and the relationship between theory and evidence will also be examined. A central goal of the course is to instill a culture of disciplined inquiry. This course is required for all MEd and MA students.
