Introduction to Interprofessional Education and Practice
Description
Students from various health profession disciplines will be exposed to a general overview of the philosophy and basic skills required to function as a member of an interprofessional team. This course will investigate the essential skills to collaborate effectively on an interpersonal and professional level. The course will examine relevant concepts such as: caring; helping relationships; therapeutic interviewing; and team dynamics. As well as focusing on clients across the lifespan, collaboration, and self-reflection. The characteristics of effective and ineffective teams are explored within large and small team environments.
