Interventions for Challenging Behaviours

Building on previous course work this next step in behavior management focuses on advanced management techniques from behavior contracting to student support plans. The first assignment will give students an opportunity to practice creating some of the documentation required by these techniques. Students will also continue to develop their understanding of behavior itself through in-depth study of topics such as self-regulation social thinking and trauma-informed care. In addition students will learn strategies specific to types of behaviours often exhibited by students with exceptionalities which will culminate in the creation of a user-friendly resource for students to use in the field.
