The placement provides the opportunity for students to observe and experience first-hand the operations, processes, and protocols of a biotechnology lab. It is designed to immerse students in the real culture of the working laboratory by (1) promoting the successful integration of curriculum elements in an applied setting, (2) building and honing the skillset you have acquired (3) facilitating access to various levels and types of equipment and/or processes, (4) promoting opportunities for specialization, and (5) providing opportunities for student understanding and networking within their workplace and the larger biotechnology industry. The fifteen-week full-time (530-600 hour) placement is a primary opportunity to integrate theory and practice into a real-world setting Placement can occur at approved local, regional, out of province, or international sites, and can be private or public.
