Integrated Seminar II
Description
Integrated Field Seminar Two consists of weekly classes involving students who are currently in their first or second field placement in an early learning program. Faculty lead the seminar classes and support students' learning and understanding of theory related to their field placement experiences. Field Liaisons are part of the class and address topics and issues related directly to student's field placement. These sessions provide opportunities to deepen their understanding of children, families, staff, philosophy, curriculum, practices and professionalism in early childhood settings as students approach the completion of their program. Students are active in these classes by engaging in class activities to understand theory and using their experiences in the field placement to apply it. Seminar will include the evaluation of the application of theory that is practiced by students in field placement. Integrated field seminar also provides opportunities for peers to share ideas and resources, practice self-reflection skills, build professional dispositions as they prepare to continue their studies in Early Childhood Education. Attendance is required along with field placement so that students can apply the theory that informs student early childhood educator practices. Student must attend field seminars in order to participate in the class activities and assignments that link course content to field placement experiences.
