Health, Healing and the Nursing Process Bridge

Description

Explore the fundamental concepts of health and illness, while engaging with clients to identify their health needs, strengths, and goals. Examine the implications of the social determinants of health on individuals, families, and communities. Understand the various theories of growth and development across the lifespan while identifying anticipated transitions, health promotion strategies, and relevant nursing considerations. Emphasis will be placed on the culture and diversity of Canada, while maintaining current knowledge about trends and issues that impact the client, the RPN, the healthcare team and the delivery of health services. Application of foundational knowledge, critical thinking skills and problem solving will be demonstrated using collaborative case analysis. Application of the nursing process using Gordon’s framework will also be utilized.
