Global Distribution Airline System

Description

This course introduces you to a web-based, global reservation system, namely Amadeus. Formed in 1987 through an alliance with four European airlines (Air France, Iberia, Lufthansa, and Scandinavian) it has become the leader of airline bookings with more than 35% of the global market share. With its strong presence in Europe, and now Asia, Amadeus has set its sight on entering the North American market. It has already successfully partnered with Southwest and Air Transat and is currently being implemented at Air Canada. It is only a matter of time before other Canadian and US carriers enter similar agreements with Amadeus, and its reach and connections will truly be unparalleled. As someone with an education in this web-based reservation system, your skills may be in great demand following graduation.

Over the weeks and months ahead, we will work with you, through numerous practical exercises, to ensure you can confidently traverse the Amadeus passenger booking system searching, selecting, booking, and modifying airline reservations and ticketing. All learning will be completed through hands-on practicals, using the live Amadeus training platform.
