Fundamentals of Project Management
Description
This is a fundamental course which provides an overview of best practices in professional project management applicable to all ten knowledge areas and the five process groups of modern project management, the associated tools, techniques, processes and best practices. It defines the key project management terms and provides a basic understanding of project management methodology. It emphasizes the alignment of project objectives with the business goals of the enterprise, under the influence of the environment in which the project operates. It explains how the various project management processes commonly interact during the project life cycle and provides an understanding of the project deliverables. It describes the key roles of the project manager, other project stakeholders, project team members, and explains the skills that are required to manage the project to a successful completion. It describes the processes required to properly coordinate the various elements of the project and evaluate possible trade-offs among competing project constraints and select amongst alternatives to best meet stakeholder needs and expectations.
