Fundamentals of Data Science

This course enables students to master the fundamental concepts of bioinformatics while working in a collaborative setting that enhances their ability to work as a team. Students will explore biological sequence analysis and applications in a controlled setting that mimics real-life scenarios and challenges that are common in the field of bioinformatics. In addition to the core learning competencies explored in this course, students will be empowered to further develop their understanding of how to search and retrieve information from genomic and proteomic data bases which will assist with their future career as a leader in the field of clinical bioinformatics.
