Field Placement
Description
This course provides students with an experiential opportunity to practice emerging skills, knowledge, and attitudes required to be an effective helping professional. Students participate in a 420-hour field placement in a mental health and/or addiction services agency. The application of classroom theory and supervision in an interdisciplinary agency setting assists students in their preparation to pursue a career in this challenging and rewarding field. Students will receive additional certification in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).
