Emergency Nursing - Pediatrics and Women
Description
This course discusses the knowledge, evidence, and legal concepts related to the nursing care of children and their families in the emergency setting. Topics will address caring for the child with illnesses and injuries, including suspected child abuse, as well as injury prevention. Women’s health concerns are also covered in this course, including common acute physical illnesses seen in the emergency department, as well as domestic violence and other psychosocial concerns. The developmental/cognitive, cultural, and societal theories and principles central to care of women, children, and their families are a significant focus in this course. To be successful with all learning objectives, each student is required to participate fully in all individual and collaborative learning activities.
