Clinical Microbiology
Description
This course emphasizes the importance of Microbiology the field of Nursing, introducing students to the biology of microorganisms including bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa and prions. These organisms will be studied in terms of their classification and physiology with an emphasis on their medical significance. Epidemiology of infectious disease including disease transmission, control procedures, body defense mechanisms and treatments will also be studied.
