Biomechanical Analysis of Fundamental Movement
Description
This course offers a comprehensive and integrated discussion on human movement science. Through the investigation of quantitative and qualitative biomechanics, students will develop the skills needed to observe, analyze, and critically evaluate patterns that commonly exist in sport, workplace, fitness/recreations and clinical settings.
Biomechanical principles include linear/ angular kinematics and kinetics, scalar and vector quantities, moment/ torque, moment arm/ levers, forces, work, impulse, and internal mechanical properties- as it relates to enhancing performance and decreasing injury. This course is designed to enhance students? placement experience, future career endeavors, and appreciation for biomechanics in sport and exercise.
