Autism Spectrum Disorder and Other Developmental Disabilities
Description
In this course, students will explore the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) as they are used to address behaviour excesses and deficits associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. This course is an examination of ASD and developmental disabilities from a broad perspective, including the etiology, possible theories of causation, assessment practices, and diagnostic features. Students will discuss the impact of the commonly associated mental health issues that a diagnosis can bring on the family unit.
