The program will cover topics such as:

• The underlying causes of various types of wounds
• Social determinants of health in wound care and barriers that impact wound healing
• Infections that affect wound healing
• Strategies to help patients and their caregivers understand the trajectory of wound infection from contamination to infection
• Application of the National Pressure Ulcer Association review and the new Skin Tear Assessment/Management tool
• Current research on wound etiology, management practices, and infection, and dressings
• New technologies and management approaches to various wound types, such as complex wounds and cancer-related wounds etc.
• Wound dressing selection of generic vs. name-brand dressing
• Real-world case examples from instructor and participants
