Advanced Health Chemistry I
Description
Throughout this course, principles of general chemistry will be introduced in preparation for topics of organic and biochemistry in Advanced Health Chemistry II. This course will enable to students to develop their understanding of chemistry through the study of basic measurements and units, matter & energy, atomic theory and the periodic trends, nomenclature of ionic and covalent compounds, VSEPR theory, and chemical reactions and quantities. Where possible, examples will be drawn from inorganic, organic, and biochemistry to provide students with a chemical perspective of issues related to health sciences. The laboratory/activity component incorporated within this course is designed to enhance comprehension of theoretical concepts covered in the classroom.
